Some ideas to help your chord “comping” on the top 4 strings. There are 7 chords in each pattern in the exact order that I identify. Try transposing these ideas.

Use only the first two fingers to finger the following pattern. On the first chord, try also fingering the 5 fret of the low E string and think of what chord that reminds you of.
