Also in the band is Dale Mills on Clarinet. Here is a little bit about Dale:
50 years ago there was a grocery store across the alley from the back door
of Anderson's Music in downtown Santa Cruz, where Dale took his first
clarinet lessons. In the grocery store was a rack of cheap vinyl records
from which he one day bought a jazz sampler that included two cuts from
Django Reinhardt - Nuages and Melodie au Crepuscule - his introduction to
Django and his music. Dale became an instant fan, but for many years he was
the only one he knew.
Then he had a long career playing lots of other styles of music.
Now every Monday night, with a band of other Django fans, in a restaurant
about 50 yards from where he bought that record, he gets to play those
songs. Life is loopy, and that's a good thing!
