Jack Fields (aka: Monterey Jacques or Cannonball Jackson), honed his rhythm style busking on the streets of Santa Cruz and San Francisco for over a decade before joining Hot Club Pacific. Regarded as a contemporary master of Gypsy Swing rhythm, Jack has blended his American swing roots with traditional and modern European Gypsy Swing styles to create a style that is powerful, percussive, swinging and all his own.
Jack has performed in concert with Larry Coryell , Bruce Forman , Howard Alden , Mimi Fox , Andreas Öberg , Paul Mehling and the Hot Club of San Francisco, Evan Price, Stephane Wrembel, Gonzalo Begara, Simon Planting, George Cole, Julian Smedley, Tony Green, Pere Soto and many, many others. He has also listened to some fabulous recordings by Django Reinhardt, Benny Goodman and Johnny Cash.
In addition to performing many times at prestigious events like Djangofest, The Monterey Dixieland Festival and the Tapestry Festival, Jack has appeared in the feature film, "The Sorcerer," the television documentary "Django Forever," and has done several live radio broadcasts. He has also appeared in “Just Jazz Guitar” magazine.
